Emu 1616 Pci Drivers
That's the same one I just uploaded. He can't get to the EMU site for some reason. There was a 2 or 3 week period that i couldn't load their site here in the US, so I have a feeling that EMU's site is still quirky. I just happened to get lucky today and downloaded/uploaded the drivers. Those should get him up and going.
It was slow but i was able to start downloading the file. Just a quick look on the Creative/Emu Professional website tells you that Emu is about done. They're only showing a couple of products and the forums are full of people bitching about driver support. Good luck with the drivers.
They work fine for many people. Thanks for that beta driver richie - dunno if it is newer than what I have but at least I now have the most recent drivers. Funny realy, because I was ultra nervous about buying the 1212m all those years back because of Creative's flaky reputation but I have to say the 112m has given me nothing but excellent service.

And to be honest I cannot hear the difference between it and my RME, plus latency with the drivers I am using is identical on both cards. Just that with the RME I have 24 I/O capability and only 8 ADAT tracks on the Emu. Just that with the RME I have 24 I/O capability and only 8 ADAT tracks on the Emu. I still think that the EMU interfaces (all of them from what i can tell) have THE best converters for the money. I compared mine to many-a-file and mine always sounded at least as good as any.
Hey guys, thank you all for your most helpful and excellent advice!! Thanks, in particular, goes to Ritchie who uploaded the files for me, top banana mate!!! It does look like we're doomed in the future regarding emu. My missus used to build bespoke pc's and creative have always been rubbish with tech support so nil points to them, 101 points to you lot!!!

And again, thanks Rob Good luck Rob. Just be aware that when you need any kind of upgrade, you will need to say goodbye to the EMU, and I imagine that the driver I uploaded will be the 'most recent' forever. Yep, it's a great card - nothing comes close at that price point. Too bad Creative/Emu has given up on it.
It looks like Creative is more concerned with their consumer-grade line and is letting Emu die a slow agonizing (to their customers) death. If you cant see patchmix you have installed only HALF the software. There always were two separate files, one for patchmix and one for the driver software. Very rusty but I think the last version of patchmix was 1.8.2 or 3 and should still be around.
I rather doubt it will have changed from the version that worked with Win7 32though. When I have a little more time I will stick the 1212m back in my studio machine and see what happens. Lot of work' though.and I am off to france for three weeks on the 6th so dont hold your breath. Reaper saw it, but no sound and no sign of patchmix!!!
I got a crappy alesis io thingy to see me through though!!! I may try installing the old drivers and then installing the new drivers 'on top'. The beta driver I uploaded was just the interface driver, but not the patchmix software. I had the 0404USB, which doesn't use patchmix, so I hadn't even thought of it.
But if you still can't get onto the EMU website for some reason, I would be happy to upload it for you (holiday-Reaper spirit and all!). Let me know, I am usually willing to help get someone on the road to making music! I still think that the EMU interfaces (all of them from what i can tell) have THE best converters for the money. I use the 1616m at home for songwriting projects and it cannot be beat by any similar card because of this: Dynamic Range (1kHz, A-weighted): 120dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio (A-weighted): 120dB You would be very hard-pressed to find other cards of the same price with those specs.
It does have issues though-the phantom power has failed and this has been reported elswhere as a problem with this particular card. It also has no Apple drivers. Great cards though. Pity for the lack of support. Yes please to getting the rest of the software mate!!
I owe you a favour, I'm useful for a bassline here and there if you need something different or just fancy a change!!! Happy New Year. I am uploading what I THINK is a package that contains everything you need. Probably repeating what i already uploaded, but better safe than sorry. Here is the direct link to the EMU site if you want to try that while you wait for these to upload on my end. And if this is not the right product, let me know.
And coincidentally, I am in the midst of a very large project for a bunch of singers in Mozambique and am often needing lively bass in a different flavor from my own, so you had better not offer bass lines unless you are serious about supplying some! PM me if you are serious and curious. I will repost when the upload is ready.
